This policy details how Summer Donations Hub handles technical data and third-party content.
1. Information We Handle
Public visitors do not need an account. Staff members who choose to sign in with Discord authorize us to receive their Discord user ID, username, and display name so we can check staff access and identify their staff session. The signed session cookie contains these identity fields for up to seven days. We do not retain Discord access tokens; admin and moderation records may also keep staff author labels or account IDs.
- Third-Party APIs: We request public stream feeds from YouTube and Twitch. Data corresponds to your active platform selection. We store no personal account details from these services.
- Technical Logs: Your browser sends technical metadata including user agent and referral headers. We aggregate this data to diagnose errors and track visitor totals.
2. How We Use Data
We use fetched data for these core tasks:
- Stream Directory: Present live streams from your selected platform.
- In-Memory Caching: Cache public stream lists in process memory to reduce network latency and observe API limits.
- Status Monitoring: Check provider availability and alert users when YouTube reaches quota caps.
- Site Performance: Review traffic volume to size server infrastructure.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
The site stores user preferences (such as light or dark theme and stream filters) in local browser storage. Staff sign-in uses a signed, HTTP-only session cookie that expires after seven days. We use no tracking or advertising scripts.
4. Third-Party Services
YouTube and Google govern content requested through the YouTube Data API.
Staff sign-in is provided through Discord OAuth. Discord handles the authentication step under its Privacy Policy.
